Supplemental health insurance can mean the difference in seniors dealing with their lives with less stress and confusion, or not, with the worry of how certain items not covered with the original Medicare, can be financially met.

Supplemental health insurance for Medicare, is known as Medigap. Medigap will fill in the gaps left open by Medicare, such as co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles. Besides Medigap there is an additional Medicare policy called Medicare Select, which is a type of Medigap policy, but you can only go to certain doctors and hospitals for your needs. You don't have this with Medigap, you can still keep your current doctors and hospitals. 

For you and your spouse each needing a Medigap policy, please note you have to buy one separately for each of you.  Medigap A offers basic benefits, if you need extra benefits added, those are offered by Plans B-L which also cover the basic benefits of Plan A.
